well last night was a real nightmare scene
i went to bed and had too much to dream
i had a couple people wandering my head
pulled outa pair of scissors real fast
they came in and said "we're gonna cut your ass"
and I figured they might uh, just be lying
but instead they took out a chunk of my skin
they threw it on the wall and said "let's begin,
we're gonna start turning you back into a pumpkin"
so they ripped out, you know, nearly all of my guts
put em in a pan and snuffed out their butts
they put me all inside
of a scarecrow's hat and a scarecrow's clothes
and where i went oh nobody knows
but when i woke up in that field I sure felt something
now i pulled out all my latest tricks
i stood there and hung right from a stick
and when the people came round they had a laugh
i never felt so good
i never felt so bad
but I sure didn't feel like going back
what's the point when you're made of a pumpkin?
i got a jack-o-lantern smile
and a couple of lips
made of rotten flesh from the pumpkin drips
oh everyone likes to hang around
they go, "CAW CAW!," and "CHEEP CHEEP!"
theres a bunch of birds trying to earn their keep
hanging round,
me, the scary old pumpkin
so leave me alone I won't be around no more
that dream turned out to be a bit more
i'm living in the dead days of a nightmare
but i'm pretty happy
i gotta guess
no one will come back and steal my vest
at least not til next year
